  Thallus to 6 cm wide, rarely 10 cm, adnate or partly ascending, membranous, smooth to rugose, matt, without isidia or rarely with terete lobules, dark olive-green to blackish green. Lobes to 4 mm wide, rounded; margin entire or slightly incised, sometimes slightly undulate, ascending. Apothecia scattered to dense, to 1.0 mm wide, laminal or marginal, appressed to sessile with constricted base; disc flat, matt, epruinose, dark red to blackish red; thalline exciple thin to moderately thick, entire, not prominent. Asci 50–65 × 15–22 µm. Ascospores 20–30 × 4.5–5.0 µm, linear-oblong, straight to slightly curved, with 4, rarely 6, cells of about equal size. Pycnidia to 170 µm wide, sparse, laminal and marginal. Conidia not seen.
     
  Occurs in Qld, A.C.T., Vic. and Tas.; endemic.
